When official traffic signs indicating such restriction have been erected in accordance with §
427-3 of this chapter, no person shall park, stop or leave standing any vehicle upon any portion of a street, highway or public or private parking facility reserved for vehicles displaying special registration plates or identification cards or emblems issued by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation or, for vehicles registered in another jurisdiction, by such other jurisdiction designating the vehicle as one used by a physically disabled person.
It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to
permit any construction, compaction, earth-grading or farm machinery
which is self-propelled and moves upon the surface of the earth and
which is owned or controlled by him/her to stand for any period of
time unattended without locking the ignition system or otherwise rendering
said machinery inoperable so as to prevent any person unauthorized
by the owner or individual in control thereof from starting said machinery.
When signs or parking meters are erected in any block giving
notice thereof, no person shall park or leave standing any vehicle
for longer than the period specified upon any of the following highways,
streets or parts thereof, except temporarily for the purpose of and
while actually engaged in receiving or discharging passengers:
A. Winter parking. No person shall park any vehicle on any public street
or highway in the Village of Athens between the hours of 2:00 a.m.
and 7:00 a.m., Monday through Friday, and 2:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.
on Saturday and Sunday from November 1 to April 1, inclusive, except
under circumstances described in § 346.50, Wis. Stats.,
and except on New Year's Day when there shall be no restrictions.
B. Other parking. When signs are erected in any block giving notice
thereof, no person shall park a vehicle for longer than the period
specified at any time between the hours specified.
C. Truck parking. No vehicle or truck larger than 3/4 ton in size shall
stand or park at any time on any part of Alfred Street from the north
line of Mueller Street to the south line of Kreutzer Street, except
while actually engaged in loading or unloading activities.
No person other than the owner or operator thereof shall remove
a Village parking citation from a motor vehicle.
