Editor's Note: This local law was subject to referendum and was approved by the electorate at the general election held 11-2-1993.
The Town Board shall be expanded in number from three members to four members.
A. 
Pursuant to § 60-a of the Town Law and § 23, Subdivision 2(g), of the Municipal Home Rule Law, this article shall be subject to a mandatory referendum and shall be submitted to the voters of the Town of Spencer at the next general election and appear as a proposition at the general election to be held on November 2, 1993.
B. 
If approved by the voters of the Town of Spencer, the fourth board member shall be elected at the next general election following such approval. Such fourth member shall be elected for a first term of one year at the next following general election and thereafter for additional terms of four years.
If approved by the voters of the Town of Spencer, the Town Board may appoint a fourth member to serve until the next general election following such approval.
