Except during the period from Noon on July third (3rd) to Midnight
on July fourth (4th), no person shall sell, give away or otherwise
dispose of any firecracker, rocket, torpedo or any other item of fireworks
of a hazardous, dangerous, explosive nature or character within the
corporate limits of the City of King City.

No person shall ignite, discharge, cause to impact, shoot, set
off, explode or cause to be exploded any firecracker, rocket, torpedo
or any other item of fireworks of a hazardous, dangerous, explosive
nature or character within the limits of King City, provided however,
the activities mentioned heretofore in this Section shall not be deemed
unlawful if conducted during the period from Noon on July third (3rd)
to Midnight on July fourth (4th) and so long as such activities are
conducted outside the perimeter of the following described prohibited
area wherein such activities shall always be totally banned:
Beginning at the intersection of Prospect Street and Fairview
Avenue, thence proceeding easterly along Fairview Avenue until it
intersects with Ohio Street, thence proceeding southerly along Ohio
Street until it intersects with East Empire Avenue (State Route Z),
thence proceeding easterly along said Empire Avenue until it intersects
with First Street, thence proceeding southerly along said First Street
until it intersects with Queen Street, thence proceeding westerly
along said Queen Street until it intersects with the Chicago, Burlington
and Quincy Railroad right-of-way, thence proceeding southwesterly
along said railroad right-of-way line until it intersects with Elm
Street, thence proceeding westerly along Elm Street until it intersects
with Havre Street, thence proceeding northerly along said Havre Street
until it intersects with Hampshire Street, thence proceeding westerly
along said Hampshire Street until it intersects with Rhode Island
Street, thence proceeding northerly along said Rhode Island Street
until it intersects with Vermont Street, thence proceeding easterly
along said Vermont Street until it intersects with Prospect Street,
thence proceeding northerly along said Prospect Street until it intersects
with Fairview Avenue and the place of beginning.

Provided further however, that the Mayor shall have authority
to grant permits to any persons on such occasions as he/she may deem
proper, suspending any of the provisions of this Article for such
time as may be specifically set out in said permits.
