This chapter shall be known as the "Property Ownership Registration
Local Law of the Village of New Hempstead."
There are many circumstances that occur that require Village
authorities to communicate with the actual owner of real property
situated in the Village. These occurrences may be the result of emergencies
or situations requiring the enforcement of the laws of the State of
New York or local laws of the Village of New Hempstead. The Board
of Trustees of the Village of New Hempstead finds that a registration
of the address of the actual owner of real property situated in the
Village is necessary to accomplish the purpose.
[Amended 4-5-1984 by L.L.
No. 4-1984]
This chapter shall be enforced by the Mayor, Deputy Mayor and
Code Inspector of the Village of New Hempstead, each of whom is hereby
authorized and empowered to issue an appearance ticket, returnable
in the Justice Court of the Village of New Hempstead, for any violation
of any provision of this chapter.
