Under the provisions of § 103(a)(1) of the Worker's Compensation Act, 77 P.S. § 1031, the members of the Boalsburg Volunteer Fire Company shall be entitled to receive workmen's compensation benefits in case of injuries received while actually engaged as firemen or while going to or returning from any fire which the fire company of which they are members shall have attended or while performing any other duties of such company authorized by the Township of Harris.

Open house; inspecting new trucks and equipment demonstrations.

Fire inspections.

Chiefs inspecting businesses for proper fire protection.

Firemen with trucks (or without) instructing school children firesafety.
(3) 
Inspection by invitation for active firemen to tour local business or hazardous areas "as a group" for proper identification of dangerous areas.

Test runs.
(1) 
Checking vehicles for proper operation, on-/off-road running.
(2) 
Vehicle inspection, maintenance, preventative maintenance.
I. 
Emergency: non-fire-related.
(1) 
Manhunts, lost children, etc.
(2) 
Pumping basements.
(3) 
Car accidents, no fire, men used for rescue.
J. 
Property maintenance. Any repairs, service, maintenance, alterations or modifications to the building and/or premises or whatever else is necessary or incidental to the upkeep of the fire company property.
