A.
Purpose. This Section sets forth requirements for the protection of natural streams as a conveyance for storm water. Natural streams provide numerous water quality, ecological and quality of life benefits; therefore the protection and preservation of streams should be considered a priority for the community.
B.
Applicability. The requirements for stream buffers shall be satisfied for all development/ redevelopment proposed adjacent to or ultimately discharging to an existing natural stream.
C.
Standards. Chapter 5600 of the Kansas City Chapter of the American Public Works Association Standard Specifications and Design Criteria shall govern the preservation of natural streams.
