Pursuant to the provisions of Section 7-136 of the General
Statutes, there is hereby established an Economic Development Commission
for the promotion and development of the business and industrial resources
of the Town.

Said Commission shall consist of nine members who shall be electors
of the Town, appointed by the Town Manager. The Town Manager shall
fill, by appointment for five years, each vacancy on said Commission
occurring by reason of expired terms. Any vacancy on said Commission
shall be filled by appointment of an elector of the Town by the Town
Manager for the unexpired portion of the term.

Any member of the Commission may be removed by the Town Manager
for cause. If such member requests a public hearing, it shall be granted.
However, the Town Manager may still remove such member after said
hearing.

The members of the Commission shall receive no compensation
for their services as such, but shall be reimbursed for their necessary
expenses incurred in the performance of their official duties.

The Commission may appoint employees necessary for the discharge
of its duties.

The Commission shall conduct researches into business and industrial
conditions in the Town and shall seek to coordinate the activities
of unofficial bodies organized for such purpose.

The Commission may advertise and may prepare, print and distribute
books, maps, charts, and pamphlets which, in its judgment, will further
its official purposes.

In the performance of its duties and in the exercise of its
powers as aforesaid, the Commission shall not incur any expense, or
obligate the Town to pay any expense, in excess of the funds appropriated
by the Council for such purpose.

The Commission shall coordinate its activities with the Town
Planning and Zoning Commission and with other interested officials
and agencies of the Town. The Commission shall invite a member of
the Town Planning and Zoning Commission to attend and to participate
in its meetings and deliberations, but without vote. The Town Planning
and Zoning Commission shall designate one of its members for that
purpose.

The annual appropriation by the Council for the purposes of
said Commission shall not exceed a sum amounting to 1/20 of 1% of
the last completed grant list of taxable property in the Town.
