The Town of Irvington does hereby establish the position of Local Historian, who shall serve without compensation.
The Local Historian shall be appointed by the Municipal Council and shall serve at the pleasure of the Municipal Council.
The Municipal Council may annually appropriate such funds as may be necessary to reimburse the Local Historian for expenses incurred in the performance of the duties and responsibilities set forth in N.J.S.A. 40:10A-7(a) through 40:10A-7(e), and limited by provisions of N.J.S.A. 40:10A-8.
The Local Historian shall make an annual report to the Mayor and the Municipal Council, stating all the work performed and accomplished during that year, and shall transmit a copy of such report to the New Jersey Historical Commission.
