This article is enacted pursuant to the authority of § 3-302
of the Village Law of the State of New York.
The terms of office of the Village Clerk and the Village Treasurer
of the Village of Clayton are hereby extended from two years to four
years.
The terms of office of the Village Clerk and the Village Treasurer
of the Village of Clayton shall be filled for terms of four years
commencing at the expiration of the term of office of the current
Village Treasurer and Village Clerk.
This article is adopted subject to a permissive referendum,
and shall become effective upon filing with the Department of State
as required by the Municipal Home Rule Law following the expiration
of the permissive referendum period or, in the event a referendum
is held, following the approval thereof by the voters of the Village
of Clayton.[1]
