Before any person shall move any building into, upon, over or through any street or other public land in the Town, such person shall comply with all the requirements of the BOCA Basic Building Code relating to the removal of buildings[1] and shall file with the Town Engineer the following.

A surety bond in the sum of $10,000, in form to be approved by the Town Attorney, conditioned upon:
A. 
The immediate commencement of the operations to remove such building and to complete such removal with all due diligence and not to abandon such operations, and to complete such project within the period of time stipulated upon the permit granted for such removal and agreeing to forfeit the sum of $100 per day for each day or part of day such period of time is exceeded.
B. 
Indemnifying and saving harmless the Town and all of its employees against every loss, expense, damage and liability by reason of such moving operation or granting of such permit.
An agreement in writing, to be signed by the owner and the mover, whereby in consideration of the issuance of the permit they will cooperate with and abide by such directives as may be issued by the Town Engineer and all appropriate department supervisors of the Town with regard to such moving operations.
Certificates of policies of insurance in favor of the owner and the mover for public liability in the sum of $50,000 and property damage in the sum of $25,000, with contingent liability coverage in favor of the Town, in connection with such operations.
A deposit, by cash or certified check, representing the estimated costs to the Town for any work done by the Town as a result of such removal, which sum shall be applied on account of the actual cost of such work, and the applicant agreeing in writing that he will pay any excess should the actual cost be more than the estimated cost. The Town shall refund any difference should the actual cost be less than the estimated cost.
