For the purposes of this chapter, the following words and phrases
shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them by this section:
CART
Any rolling or nonrolling basket or container used in so-called
supermarkets or self-service stores.

At reasonable hours of a business day, the Director of Public
Works is authorized to enter any premises where carts are provided
and available for use in order to inspect such carts for proper identification
and to ensure compliance.

A. Within 48 hours after a public sale or disposition other than redemption,
the Director of Public Works shall pay over to the Treasurer the proceeds
of the sale or disposition.
B. At the same time, the Director of Public Works shall deliver to the
Treasurer a detailed statement concerning the public sale or disposition.
The statement shall include:
(2) Name and address of the purchaser.
(3) Amount paid by the purchaser.
(4) Cost and expenses of the public sale or disposition.
Any person, association or corporation who shall violate the
provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be fined not less
than $50 for each violation nor more than $1,000, or imprisoned for
a term not to exceed 90 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
Upon a second or subsequent conviction, any person, association or
corporation who shall violate the provisions of this chapter shall
be fined not less than $100 nor more than $1,000 or imprisoned for
a term not to exceed 90 days, or both, at the discretion of the court.
