It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate or
engage in the removal, demolition or destruction of any building,
wall or structure within the Town of Irvington on the first day of
the week, commonly known as Sunday.
It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate or
engage in the excavation, digging or grading of land or the removal
or carting away of rubble or earth created by such excavation, digging
or grading of land within the Town of Irvington on the first day of
the week, commonly known as Sunday.

It shall be unlawful for any person or persons to operate or
engage in the exterior or interior construction, demolition, erection,
alteration or repair of lots, buildings or structures of any kind
within the Town of Irvington on the first day of the week, commonly
known as Sunday, and any United States of America federal holiday
or State of New Jersey state holiday.
Permits issued for any of the activities or occupations set forth in §§
566-1,
566-2 and
566-3, heretofore issued or henceforth to be issued, shall be valid for use on any days of the week except Sunday.

The penalty for violations of this chapter are as follows:
A. For the
first violation: a fine of $50.
B. For the
second violation: a fine of $250.
C. For the
third violation: a fine of $500.
D. For the
fourth violation: a maximum fine of $750. In addition, a mandatory
court appearance is required for the fourth violation.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
PERSON
Includes individuals, partnerships, corporations and contractors.
