Section 705.010 Water Service Charges — Inside City Limits.

Residential.

The monthly service charge for water service for residences situated within the corporate limits of the City of Cassville, Missouri, shall be fourteen dollars, forty-two cents ($14.42) for each meter.

In addition to the monthly service charge set forth for all residences within the corporate limits of the City of Cassville, Missouri, there shall be a consumption charge of four dollars fifty-eight cents ($4.58) per one thousand (1,000) gallons of water or fraction thereof.

Commercial.

The monthly service charge for water service for commercial situated within the corporate limits of the City of Cassville, Missouri, shall be:

For one (1) to two (2) inch meters: thirty dollars ten cents ($30.10) for each meter.

For three (3) to four (4) inch meters: thirty-seven dollars thirty-one cents ($37.31) for each meter.

In addition to the monthly service charge set forth for all commercial accounts within the corporate limits of the City of Cassville, Missouri, there shall be a consumption charge of four dollars fifty-eight cents ($4.58) per one thousand (1,000) gallons of water or fraction thereof.

If the City determines that it is not technically or economically feasible to install individual meters on any premises, residences, commercial businesses or industries, and if it fails to install individual meters as required by Subsection (A), the owner of the premises served, where there are multiple residences, commercial businesses or industries not individually metered, shall pay water and sewerage charges as follows: the number of users times the minimum monthly water and sewerage charge per month and, in addition, the consumption charge.

A certain document, a copy of which is on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Cassville, being marked and designated as "the Utility Billing Policy," be and is hereby adopted.

The monthly service charge for water service for residences, commercial businesses or industries situated outside the corporate limits of the City of Cassville, Missouri shall be thirty dollars ten cents ($30.10) for each meter.

In addition to the monthly service charge set forth for all residential, commercial and industrial users outside the corporate limits of the City of Cassville, Missouri, there shall be a consumption charge of eight dollars ninety-five cents ($8.95) per each one thousand (1,000) gallons of water or fraction thereof.

Section 705.040 Water Service Billing — Outside City Limits.

Section 705.050 Water Leaks.

Maintenance and repair of water lines on private property is the responsibility of the private customer. The customer is also responsible for any water lost due to leaks or breakage of their lines. The City of Cassville may elect to adjust the customer's sewer billing when the customer promptly notifies the City of Cassville's Public Works Department as to the nature of the leak and the City can verify the repair has been completed.

Elected Methods to Adjust. If the leak is from any source that allows the flow of water into the sewer line, then no credit will be allowed for sewer. If the water leak is from any source that does not allow the flow of water into the sewer line, then the sewer usage bill will be adjusted to equal three months of average usage, as determined by the Public Works Department.

The City will allow for a customer's water leak credit no more than one (1) time in any twelve-month period.

The City shall deny or discontinue, after reasonable notice to the occupants thereof, the water service to any premises wherein any leak is not repaired and verified in a manner acceptable to the City.

Water service to such premises shall not be restored until the consumer has corrected or eliminated such conditions or defects in conformance to this Article to the satisfaction of the City.

Section 705.060 Fire Hydrants — Prohibited Acts.

Any person tampering with a fire hydrant, opening the valve on a fire hydrant, or in any manner running water from the same without the written consent of the Public Works Director shall be guilty of violating this Section.

This Section shall not apply to usage of fire hydrants by any member of the Fire Department in controlling fires, or to any City employee who is authorized by the Public Works Director to use or maintain fire hydrants.
