As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
HOUSEHOLD
Shall refer to the household and/or individual who resides at the residential property where the yard sale shall be located.
YARD SALE
A yard sale or garage sale, open to the public, conducting the sale of goods on residential properties, garage, home, lawn or yard.
Permits; permit fee. Permit application requirements and any associated permit fees shall be established by Borough Council resolution.
A. 
Two yard sales are permissible per household in any twelve-month period.
B. 
The maximum duration of each yard sale event sale shall be two consecutive calendar days, between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
A. 
No person shall post, paste, paint or fasten any printed notices or flyers upon any telegraph, telephone or power pole within the Borough of Crafton.
B. 
All posted signs, notices, or flyers shall be removed within 24 hours of the final day of the yard sale event.
Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter shall be issued a warning upon the first violation offense. Any person who shall violate any provision of this chapter, after the first offense, shall, upon conviction, be sentenced to pay a fine in the amount of $100, plus prosecution costs, for the second offense and any offense thereafter.
The Ordinance Enforcement Officer and/or any Crafton police officer is hereby authorized to act on behalf of the Borough with respect to the enforcement of this chapter and shall have the authority to immediately order any unpermitted yard sales to cease and desist.
