Editor's Note: The preamble to this Ord. No. 2012-4 reads as follows:
Whereas, the governing body wishes to provide procedural rules for the conducting of its meetings as well as those of all boards, committees, and commissions, that are appointed by the governing body; and
Whereas, the Robert's Rules of Order is a well-recognized source of parliamentary and procedural authority for the conducting of organizational business; and
Whereas, the Clerk of the Borough of Palmyra maintains a copy of the Robert's Rules of Order that shall be considered the official version to be utilized by the governing body, and all boards, commissions, and committees appointed by the governing body, and the aforesaid official version shall be available for public inspection during the regular business hours of the Borough of Palmyra.
Except as otherwise mandated by law or if inconsistent with any special rules of order the meeting may adopt, the Robert's Rules of Order is hereby adopted as the procedural authority for the conducting of all meetings of the governing body as well as all boards, commissions, and committees appointed by the governing body.
The copy of the Robert's Rules of Order maintained by the Clerk of the Borough of Palmyra and available for public inspection during regular business hours shall be the official version to be so utilized.
