The Borough of Milton currently has three primary parking lots
which are utilized by the public, Borough employees, and officials.
The Borough Council has determined to enact the following regulations
regarding the use and activities permitted within these lots and other
properties owned by the Borough in which parking areas are available.
The following municipal parking lots are established:
A. Parking Lot No. 1: A municipal parking lot located in the Milton
commercial business district and bordered on the west by Elm Street;
the north by Cherry Alley; the east by Bound Avenue and the south
by Center Street.
B. Parking Lot No. 2: A municipal parking lot located south of the Police
Station and beginning at the electric pole located at the northwest
corner of the parking lot, heading in a southerly direction a distance
of 108 feet to an electric pole located at the southwest corner of
the parking lot, from there heading in an easterly direction a distance
of 80 feet to the southeast corner of the parking lot, then heading
in a northerly direction a distance of 108 feet to the northeast corner
of the parking lot, then heading in a westerly direction a distance
of 80 feet to the electric pole located at the northwest corner of
the parking lot.
C. Parking Lot No. 3: A municipal parking lot located south of the Borough
Hall and beginning at the northeast corner of the intersection of
the first alley south of the Borough Hall and Filbert Street, then
heading in a westerly direction a distance of eight feet to the southeast
corner of the public lot, then heading in a northerly direction along
Filbert Street a distance of 20 feet to the northeast corner of the
parking lot, then heading in a westerly direction a distance 87 feet
to the northwest corner of the parking lot, then heading in a southerly
direction a distance of 20 feet to the southwest corner of the parking
lot, then heading in an easterly direction along said alley a distance
of 87 feet to the southeast corner of the parking lot.
With the exception of official Borough or authorized Borough
employee vehicles, no vehicles shall be parked in Parking Lot No.
1, No. 2 and/or No. 3 between the hours of 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.,
unless a permit is issued for the vehicle to be located in the respective
parking lot during those hours.
It shall be at the discretion of the Milton Borough Council to determine whether all or any portion of Parking Lot No. 1, 2, or 3, shall have parking meters installed. Such determination may be made by Milton Borough Council and established by adoption of a resolution making that designation. Meter rates shall be established from time to time by Council and adopted in the form of a resolution. A vehicle parked in a metered space at which the metered time has expired will be in violation of this article, and vehicles parked in a metered parking lot shall be in violation of this article if they are not in compliance with the requirements of Borough Ordinance Article
VII, Metered Parking (§§
233-37 to
233-45), of the Code of Ordinances of the Borough of Milton, and will be subject to the enforcement and violation penalties of this article.
No individuals shall sit or stand in the areas of the parking
lot designated for vehicular traffic and parking and/or participate
in any activity which would hinder or obstruct the safe ingress or
egress or movement of vehicles within the parking lot, or pose a danger
to the personal safety of those participating or those utilizing the
parking lot for parking, unless such activity is in conjunction with
an event or activity approved by the Milton Borough Council.

A. In Parking Lot No. 1, there are several designated spaces that are
reserved for the employees of M&T Bank which have been set aside
due to M&T Bank's conveyance of certain land to the Borough to
accomplish renovation of the parking lot. Those spaces are reserved
strictly for M&T Bank employees and customers at no cost or charge
to M&T Bank. All other persons are prohibited from parking in
those spaces that are so designated.
B. In Parking Lot No. 1, the first four spaces at the northwestern corner
of Parking Lot No. 1 are reserved for employees of the District Justice
Office No. 08-3-02 during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Monday
through Friday of each and every week at no cost or charge to the
owners of the office and any lessee thereof who leases the space.
The spaces may be used for general parking as provided in this chapter
at times other than those specifically specified above. All other
persons are prohibited from parking in those spaces during the days
and hours that are so designated.
C. Vehicles that are not parked in compliance with this section will
be in violation of this chapter and subject to the penalties stated
within. Prior adopted ordinances establishing any other reserved parking
spaces within the Borough-owned parking lots are hereby repealed.
