This chapter shall be known and referred to as the "Administrative
Code" of the Township of Denville, and shall herein also be referred
to as "the code."
As used in this chapter:
ADMINISTRATOR
The Business Administrator appointed pursuant to the Charter
and this code, or any assistant, deputy or acting administrator serving
in place of the Business Administrator pursuant to the Charter or
this code.
CHARTER
Mayor-Council Plan F of Chapter 210 of New Jersey Laws of
1950, as amended and supplemented (N.J.S.A. 40:69A-1 et seq.).
CLERK
The Municipal Clerk duly appointed pursuant to the Charter
or code.
COUNCIL
The local legislative and investigative body of the Township
constituted and elected pursuant to the Charter or code and designated
as the Municipal Council of the Township of Denville.
DEPARTMENT
An organization unit of the municipal government established
or designated by or pursuant to the code as a department.
DIRECTOR
The administrative head of a department.
GENERAL LAW
Any law or provisions of law not inconsistent with the Optional
Municipal Charter Law (N.J.S.A. 40:69A-1 et seq., as amended), heretofore
or hereafter enacted which is by its terms applicable or available
to all municipalities, and the following additional laws, whether
or not such additional laws are so applicable or available to all
municipalities: legislation relating to taxation, local courts, education,
health, public authorities serving more than one municipality, and
municipalities in unsound financial condition.
MUNICIPALITY
The Township of Denville in the County of Morris.
ORDINANCE
All ordinances of the Township of Denville in force and effect
on January 1, 1972, and thereafter. An "ordinance" shall also be defined
as an act of the Council as defined in N.J.S.A. 40:49-1 et seq.
