[HISTORY: Adopted by the Township Council of the Township of Denville by Ord. No. 11-82 (Ch. 11, Sec. 11-9, of the 1978 Revised General Ordinances). Amendments noted where applicable.]
The Construction Official of the Township is hereby designated as the officer to exercise the powers prescribed by this chapter, and he shall serve in such capacity without any additional salary.
A. 
The Construction Official is hereby authorized to perform inspections of all rooming house and boardinghouses within the Township as may be required by Rooming and Boarding House Act of 1979, N.J.S.A. 55:13B-1 et seq., subject to the control and supervision of the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs and in accordance with any rules and regulations promulgated by him governing the conduct of such inspections. All such physical evaluations shall be recorded on forms provided by the Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards.
B. 
Completed forms shall be promptly forwarded to the Bureau.
All inspections conducted pursuant to this chapter shall be carried out in accordance with the standards promulgated in the regulations governing the Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards (N.J.A.C. 5:27-1 et seq.).
If, upon inspection of any rooming house or boardinghouse, the Construction Official shall discover any violation of the regulations governing the Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards which constitute and imminent hazard to the health, safety or welfare of the occupants or intended occupants thereof, or of the public generally, the Construction Official shall immediately notify the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs on the appropriate forms.
Enforcement of the provisions of the Rooming and Boarding House Act of 1979 shall be the duty and responsibility of the Commissioner of the Department of Community Affairs.

An inspection fee as set forth in Chapter 245, Fees, Rates and Charges, shall be charged to the owner of any rooming house or boardinghouse subject to such inspection.
