The Construction Official of the Township is hereby designated
as the officer to exercise the powers prescribed by this chapter,
and he shall serve in such capacity without any additional salary.
All inspections conducted pursuant to this chapter shall be
carried out in accordance with the standards promulgated in the regulations
governing the Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards (N.J.A.C.
5:27-1 et seq.).
If, upon inspection of any rooming house or boardinghouse, the
Construction Official shall discover any violation of the regulations
governing the Bureau of Rooming and Boarding House Standards which
constitute and imminent hazard to the health, safety or welfare of
the occupants or intended occupants thereof, or of the public generally,
the Construction Official shall immediately notify the Commissioner
of the Department of Community Affairs on the appropriate forms.
Enforcement of the provisions of the Rooming and Boarding House
Act of 1979 shall be the duty and responsibility of the Commissioner
of the Department of Community Affairs.

An inspection fee as set forth in Chapter
245, Fees, Rates and Charges, shall be charged to the owner of any rooming house or boardinghouse subject to such inspection.
