There is hereby established a Fire Department in the City, which
shall be under the direct control and supervision of the Council.
The Fire Department shall consist of one Chief and such other employees
with titles applicable thereto as may, in the opinion of a majority
of the Council, be found necessary from time to time or as may be
prescribed by ordinance.

The duties and salaries of the employees of the Fire Department
shall be prescribed and fixed by the Council, and the expenses of
the Department shall be paid from whatever revenue may be available
to the Council.

The purchase of supplies and all material used by the City on
behalf of the Fire Department shall be made by the purchasing agent.

The Chief of the Fire Department shall furnish to the Council
such information as may be required from time to time, and shall make
an annual report of all the business of such Department under his
supervision for each fiscal year.
All ordinances of the City providing for mutual fire protection
assistance to other municipalities are hereby saved from repeal and
continued in full force and effect.
