There is hereby established in and for the Borough of Kane a
Park Commission, which shall be composed of five residents of the
Borough who shall be appointed by the Council, and who shall serve
without compensation. The initial terms of the members so appointed
shall be as follows: One member shall be appointed for a term of one
year, one member shall be appointed for a term of two years, one member
shall be appointed for a term of three years, one member shall be
appointed for a term of four years and one member shall be appointed
for a term of five years. On the expiration of the term of any Commissioner,
a successor shall be appointed by the Council to serve for a term
of five years. Vacancies in the office of Commissioner shall be filled
by Council for the unexpired term.
The appointed Commission shall be responsible for the planning
and vision for the Borough’s parklands with recommendations
to Borough Council only.
