In addition to the powers and duties outlined in Article 3 of the Greenfield Home Rule Charter, the Mayor shall have the following powers and duties:
A.
The Mayor shall have the care, custody and control of all City property which is not required by law, Greenfield Home Rule Charter, or these ordinances to be under the jurisdiction of any other department.
B.
The Mayor shall be the agent of the City to institute, prosecute, defend and prosecute, defend and compromise any and all claims, actions, and proceedings by or against the City or in which the rights or interests of the City are or may be involved.
C.
The City Attorney shall be appointed by the Mayor for an indefinite term.
D.
The Mayor may request that the City Attorney assist in the prosecution of any violations of these ordinances and may, if it determines that any rights or interests of the City are or may be involved, request that the City Attorney conduct the defense of any action or proceeding brought against any City agency or City officer.
