Article I Hose Connections

§ 123-1 Standards.

A. All buildings with standpipe hose connections shall be furnished with 1.5-inch NST or 2.5-inch NST connections.

B. All buildings with sprinkler feed lines (fire department connections) or fire pumps shall be furnished with two 2.5-inch female NST connections or one five-inch NFPA nonthreaded connection (Storz) when the gallons per minute (GPM) rating permits such a connection.

C. All public or private hydrants (excluding dry hydrants) shall be furnished with two 2.5-inch NST threaded hose connections and one five-inch NFPA nonthreaded connection (Storz) when the gallons per minute (GPM) rating permits such a connection.

D. All public or private dry hydrants shall be furnished with one six-inch NST female connection.

E. Furthermore, all fire department connections shall be covered with nonlocking caps when not in use.
