A. 
Establishment. There is hereby established a Fire Department for the City, which shall consist of a Chief and such organized volunteer firemen as may be enrolled by the Chief with the consent of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen.
B. 
Appointment Of Officers. The Fire Department shall be under the control and supervision of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen. The Mayor shall recommend to the Board of Aldermen the appointment of the Fire Chief. The Chief shall be the highest in command, and next in command shall be the Assistant Chief(s), and, in the absence of both, the next ranking officer whom the Chief shall designate shall assume command of the Department.
C. 
Vacancies. The Chief of the Fire Department shall fill all vacancies in the Fire Department. Appointees will serve a probationary period of three (3) months. If the appointee completes the probationary period, the Fire Chief will recommend to the Board of Aldermen that the new fireman be put on permanent status.
D. 
Promotions. All promotions will be approved by the staff of the Department. The staff members shall be the Fire Chief, Assistant Chief, Captain, and Lieutenant of this Fire Department.

A. 
Objective. The objective of the Department is the protection of life and property.
B. 
Duties. The Fire Department shall have charge of the fire apparatus and shall keep the same in good order ready for immediate use. It shall be the duty of the firemen under the supervision of the Fire Chief to maintain all fire equipment and the fire station in a clean and satisfactory condition at all times.

A. 
Outside Calls. If there are two serviceable fire trucks with adequate equipment and a request is received for firefighting equipment outside the City limits, the Fire Chief, or Assistant Chief, may determine whether to answer such request depending upon the road conditions, water supply and other conditions at the time, and his decision shall be final. This decision shall in no way subject him to liability.
B. 
Call Charges. In the event the Fire Department answers the call, it shall take only one truck and not more than one-half of the available members of the Department. The Chief shall determine rates for making calls and runs outside the City limits. The rates shall be at a minimum one hundred dollars ($100.00), regardless of the success or failure of the mission, twenty-five dollars ($25.00) of which is for the use of the equipment for one hour, and seventy-five dollars ($75.00) to repay the City general revenue fund for the compensation to firemen; provided, if the City equipment shall be used for longer than one hour, the minimum charge shall be fifty dollars ($50.00) per hour or any part thereof, in excess of the first one-hour period for which the charge of one hundred dollars ($100.00) is made; provided, further, that from this fifty dollars ($50.00) the general revenue fund of the City shall be reimbursed for the expenses actually paid to the firemen.

A. 
The City of Granby Fire Department will bill the property/building owner's insurance company up to five hundred dollars ($500.00) for reimbursement of services provided for the extinguishment, salvage, overhaul, and investigation into the origin and cause of the fire.
B. 
No occupant, property owner, or building owner will be billed for reimbursement where no insurance policy coverage is provided on the property where the City of Granby Fire Department has responded to a fire.

The Board of Aldermen of the City may by ordinance enter into a contract or agreement with other political subdivision for the provision of fire services by one (1) political subdivision to another on request as provided for in Sections 321.220 and 70.220, RSMo. The terms "Chief of Fire Department," "Chief," "Fireman," "Fire Department," as used herein, shall refer to Firefighters of the contracting entity.
