The purpose of the GC General Commercial District is to provide for a variety of neighborhood and community scaled commercial uses in areas with adequate transportation access. Further, this district provides for those commercial uses in such a manner so as to preserve the characteristics of adjoining residential land use while providing for the safety and convenience of the traveling public.

1. 
Principal Uses. See Table 27-1.
2. 
Accessory Uses (subject to the requirements of § 27-1631):
A. 
Parking and loading facilities, in accordance with Part 18 of this chapter.
B. 
Signs, in accordance with Part 17 of this chapter.
C. 
Communications antenna mounted on an existing public utility transmission tower, building or other structure, in accordance with § 27-1620.
D. 
Accessory uses customarily incidental and subordinate to a principal permitted use.

Minimum lot width at street right-of-way line: 100 feet.

Minimum lot width at front building line: 100 feet.

Arterial streets: 60 feet.

Collector and local streets: 40 feet.

Minimum side yard:
A. 
Contiguous to or interior of a commercial or industrial district: no property boundary minimum.
B. 
Adjoining residential district boundary: 20 feet.

Minimum rear yard: 30 feet.

Maximum structure height: 35 feet.

Maximum lot coverage: 75% of all impervious surfaces.
