[Adopted 11-10-1987 by Ord. No. 1987-07 (Ch. 24, Part 2, of the 1985 Code of Ordinances)]
This article is enacted under authority of the Local Tax Enabling Act, 53 P.S. § 6924.101 et seq., as hereafter amended, supplemented, modified or reenacted by the General Assembly of Pennsylvania.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RESIDENT
Every adult 18 years or older who lives within the Township of Blair.
Every resident shall pay $10 for the present calendar year and each and every year hereafter.
All taxes, interests, costs and penalties imposed by this article shall be collected by the Hollidaysburg Area School District.
In that the Hollidaysburg Area School District, pursuant to P.L. 885, No. 172, dated October 11, 1984, has imposed a duplicate per capita tax, the per capita tax for Blair Township shall be 1/2 the rate of $10 or $5 during the time the duplication of said tax exists with the Hollidaysburg School District, and at any such times as the same would not be a duplication with the Hollidaysburg Area School District, then, in that event, the amount shall be $10.
The Township Secretary is herewith directed to advise the Hollidaysburg Area School District of the intention of the Township of Blair to levy said per capita tax, along with a copy of this article.
This article shall become effective January 1, 1988, and shall continue in effect on a calendar year basis without annual reenactment.
