Unless otherwise specified herein, the maximum speed limit established by the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code shall apply on any street within the Township boundaries. The following maximum speed limits are established on the streets or parts of streets specified below, and it shall be unlawful for any person to drive a vehicle at a higher speed than the maximum speed limit prescribed for that part of the street:

Any person who violates any provision of this section, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $35 and costs. Any person exceeding the maximum speed limit by more than five miles per hour shall pay an additional fine of $2 per mile for each mile in excess of five miles per hour over the maximum speed limit.
