A.
Any real property or improvement having solar panels on its roof or otherwise shall apply for and obtain approval from the Building Department of the Borough and obtain any and all necessary permits for the construction of same in accordance with all laws, rules, regulations, statutes, codes, and ordinances.
B.
All structures having solar panels shall have an identifying emblem permanently affixed to the front exterior entrance door of the structure or within two feet to the left of said door at a height of three feet to six feet from the bottom base of the door. The emblem shall be of a bright and reflective white or made of reflective white material. The shape of the emblem shall be a triangle with each side being six inches in length. There shall be a one-and-one-half inch black letter "S" centered and superimposed on a bright yellow, red lined, sun shape so as to be conspicuous. The triangle shall be bordered in red. On the bottom of the emblem, centered between the sun shape and red line shall appear in black the words "SOLAR PANELS". An example of the figure is attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and incorporated herein by reference ("emblem")[1]. This emblem shall be permanently affixed and maintained by the real property owner.

C.
In addition to the foregoing, detached one- and two-family residential structures with solar panels shall also have an additional emblem placed to the side of or directly above the exterior electric service meter which shall be permanently affixed and maintained by the real property owner.
D.
The first two emblems may be obtained through the Fire Marshal of the Borough of Lodi at no charge; however any lost, stolen or damaged emblems shall be replaced by the homeowner and may be obtained through the Fire Marshal of the Borough of Lodi at a charge of $25 per emblem.
E.
In addition to the required emblem, property owners shall also provide the Fire Marshal of the Borough of Lodi with a completed registration illustrating the location of the disconnect switch, the name of the manufacturer and type of solar panel as well as contact information for the vendor, person or entity authorized to deactivate the solar panel and contact information for the contractor or vendor that installed the solar panel, including name, address, emergency phone number, e-mail address and fax number.
