The office of elected Borough Auditors is hereby abolished except
that those persons now holding said office shall continue to hold
the same until their respective terms of office expire. Provided,
however, said persons shall not audit, settle or adjust the accounts
to be audited by an independent auditor from time to time appointed
by Borough Council.

Borough Council hereby elects to appoint by resolution adopted
each year prior to the close of the fiscal year an independent auditor,
qualified as set forth in the Borough Code, to perform all duties
required of such official as set forth in the Borough Code for the
particular fiscal year and to fix his salary for performing said duties.
Said duties shall include, but not be limited to, advertisement of
the audit and appeal where taken.
