Three School Committee members shall be elected from West Greenwich to the Regional District School Committee. All candidates shall be qualified electors of the Town. Members shall be elected to four year terms. The terms shall be staggered so that one member shall be elected at the presidential-general election and two shall be elected at the next general election. In the event that the office of a School Committee member shall become vacant, the Town Council shall appoint a qualified elector of the Town to serve until the next general election, at which time a new member shall be elected to serve either the remaining two year portion of the vacated office or to a full four year term as appropriate to maintain staggered terms.
