CHAINS
Full chains, straps, chains or other types of chains mounted
on the driving wheels of a motorized vehicle.
SNOW EMERGENCY
A snow emergency shall exist upon a snowfall accumulation
of three inches or more or during any period in which the Borough
snow plowing and snow removal equipment shall be operating on the
streets and roads within the Borough; providing, however, that such
periods shall not exceed more than 72 hours after the cessation of
a snowfall.
SNOW TIRES/ALL-PURPOSE TIRES
Snow tires/all-purpose tires with sufficient tread to allow
self-propelled vehicles to move through streets having three inches
or more of snow thereupon.
VEHICLES
All self-propelled motorized vehicles using Borough streets
and highways including taxicabs, but excluding other public transportation
conveyances.

During the time of a snow emergency, as defined above, no person
shall park a vehicle, or allow a vehicle to remain parked on the following
streets:

A snow emergency may be declared by any two of the following:
President of Borough Council, Chief of Police, Borough Manager or
Superintendent of Public Works.

In the event that there is an accumulation of snow and/or ice
on any street causing a dangerous condition, the Police Department
may post temporary "no parking" signs on any street in the Borough
wherever the dangerous condition exists.

During a snow emergency, no vehicle shall be operated upon any
street or road located within the Borough of Hatboro without snow-rated
tires or chains.

Any vehicle parked, stalled, or incapable of moving under its
own power, or left unattended upon any street or road located within
the Borough, during a snow emergency, may be removed or towed away
at the owner's expense to another location at the direction of
the Borough of Hatboro Police Department or other authority as authorized
by the Borough Council of the Borough of Hatboro.

No provision of this Part shall be construed to permit parking
on any street or at any location along said street where such parking
is prohibited by the provisions of the Vehicle Code of Pennsylvania
or by any other part of this chapter or any other ordinance of the
Borough of Hatboro now in effect or hereafter enacted.

The Superintendent of Public Works of the Borough of Hatboro
is hereby authorized and directed to procure signs as may be specified
by the Borough Council and to post same throughout the Borough at
appropriate intervals along each street giving public notice of parking
restrictions during snow alerts.
