This article is adopted pursuant to the authority granted by § 341.35,
Wis. Stats., as from time to time amended.
The purpose of this article is to provide the Village of Tigerton
a source of revenue to be used to assist with transportation-related
purposes.
In this article, a "motor vehicle" means an automobile or motor
truck registered under § 341.25(1)(c), Wis. Stats., at a
gross weight of not more than 8,000 pounds.
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation shall retain a portion
of monies collected equal to the actual administrative costs related
to the collection of these fees. The method of computing the administrative
costs will be reviewed annually by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation,
as provided in § 341.35, Wis. Stats.
The following motor vehicles are exempt from the annual Village
of Tigerton vehicle registration fee:
A. All vehicles
exempted by Ch. 341, Wis. Stats., from payment of a state vehicle
registration fee.
B. All vehicles
registered by the State of Wisconsin under § 341.26, Wis.
Stats., for a fee of $5.
C. No Village
registration fee may be imposed on a motor vehicle which is a replacement
for a motor vehicle for which a current Village vehicle registration
fee has been paid.
All monies under the applicable statute and this article remitted
to the Village by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation or other
applicable agency shall be deposited into the Village's general fund
and be used solely for assisting with transportation-related purposes.
The collection of the vehicle registration fee shall commence
on September 1, 2016.
