The SJHPC shall recommend an appropriate system of processing fees for the review of nominations and certificates of appropriateness. The person making the nomination will pay the designated fee.

It shall be unlawful for any person to undertake or cause an alteration, construction, demolition or removal of any nominated or designated landmark or structure within a nominated or designated historic district without a certificate of appropriateness.

It shall be unlawful to not maintain designated landmarks or structures within designated historic districts within the minimum maintenance requirements of Article VI of this Chapter.

Any person convicted of violating the provisions of this Chapter shall be punished by a fine no greater than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or confinement in the City Jail for a period not to exceed sixty (60) days, or both fine and confinement. Each day each violation shall continue to exist shall constitute a separate violation.
