The Village Board may, on its own motion or on recommendation of the Planning Board, amend Chapter
340, Zoning, after public notice and hearing.
The Planning Board shall review and report on all proposed amendments to Chapter
340, Zoning, before a public hearing is held.
The time and place of public hearings on proposed amendments
shall be set by resolution of the Village Board.
Notice of the time and place of hearings shall be published
at least 15 days in advance.
Written notice of proposed amendments affecting property authorized
by the Public Housing Law shall be given to the project's housing
authority and its appointing government at least 10 days in advance.
Written notice of proposed amendments affecting property within
600 feet of any other municipality must be given to the clerks of
that municipality and of the County Legislature at least 10 days in
advance.
If a protest is presented to the Village Clerk, signed by the
owners of 20% or more of the land area directly affected by a proposed
amendment or within 100 feet of the affected land or the street frontage
opposing the affected land, four affirmative votes of the Village
Board shall be required for adoption.
