No owner or occupant shall allow vegetation other than trees and shrubbery to grow higher than eight inches in any yard that abuts a public thoroughfare or in a street margin abutting his property.
The Public Works Superintendent shall notify property owners of violations of this chapter by ordinary mail. If the violation is not corrected within three days of notice, the Village shall cut the vegetation. The Public Works Superintendent shall certify the cost of this work to the Village Clerk, who shall bill the property owner for the cost plus 25%, with a minimum of $25. If not paid within 30 days of billing, the total shall be added to the tax levy upon the property.
