The Village Justice shall determine the staff and operating hours of the Traffic Violations Bureau, which shall process violations of Chapter 240, Parking, and Chapter 326, Vehicles and Traffic.
Fines for violations of Chapter 240, Parking, and Chapter 326, Vehicles and Traffic, may be paid to the Traffic Violations Bureau.
The Traffic Violations Bureau shall accept fines, issue receipts and represent violators who plead guilty and waive appearance in court.
If a violator does not appear, the Traffic Violations Bureau may notify the owner of the ticketed vehicle of the violation and his responsibility to appear.
If the owner or violator does not respond within three days of notification, the Traffic Violations Bureau may issue a summons requiring the owner to appear.
The Traffic Violations Bureau shall keep records of all fines collected and the status of every case and report these monthly to the Village Board.
Nothing in this chapter shall be construed to deprive anyone of their right to counsel or to appear in court upon any charge under this law.[1]
