The purpose of this article is to protect the health, safety
and general welfare of the residents of the Town of Woodbury by minimizing
the risk of potential pollution of the Town's surface water and groundwaters
from leakage of heating fuels.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
HEATING FUEL
Any petroleum product, including waste oil, but excluding
liquefied petroleum gas and liquefied natural gas.
STORAGE TANK
Any tank, vault, container, receptacle or similar structure
used or designed to be used for the storage, transmission or disposing
of heating fuel, liquefied petroleum gas or liquefied natural gas.

Any person who, by himself or his employee or agent, or as the
employee or agent of another, violates any requirement of this article
shall be subject to a fine of $200.
Any person aggrieved by any requirement of this article, or
any act of the Building Official in enforcing the same, may appeal
for relief to the Building Code Board of Appeals.

The provisions of this article shall not supersede any authority
the local or state Fire Marshal may have regarding the design, construction,
installation and maintenance of storage tanks due to their capacity,
use, or location.
