There is hereby established a Community Advisory Board of the Township of Little Egg Harbor.
The Community Advisory Board shall consist of 24 regular nonvoting members and up to five alternate nonvoting members appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Township Committee. All members must be residents of the Township of Little Egg Harbor. The terms of all members of the Community Advisory Board shall be one year, and shall terminate on December 31 of the year of appointment.
The Community Advisory Board shall meet at least quarterly. Nothing shall preclude the Board from meeting more frequently if deemed necessary.
Duties and responsibilities. The Community Advisory Board shall be responsible for advising the Mayor and Township Committee on matters impacting the Township, including but not limited to the areas of medical and social services, nutrition programs, transportation, recreation, employment opportunities, taxation and housing. The Community Advisory Board may also sponsor and schedule educational programs, in conjunction with the Community Activities Board, on topics of interest in the Township community centers.
The Mayor shall annually appoint a member of the governing body to serve as liaison to the Community Advisory Board. The liaison shall report to the governing body and the public on a monthly basis, by Committee report, to advise on activities and recommendations of the Community Advisory Board.
