1. Skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, roller blades and scooters
shall be regulated. No person shall operate or ride a skateboard or
roller skate or roller blade or scooter within the Township of East
Pennsboro without complying with the terms of this chapter.
2. As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meaning
indicated:
SCOOTER
A vehicle consisting of a long footboard between two small
wheels, controlled by an upright steering handle attached to the front
wheel without a low-powered gasoline engine, or a two-wheeled vehicle
with small wheels and a low-powered gasoline engine geared to the
rear wheel.
SKATEBOARD
A single platform which is mounted on wheels, having no mechanism
or other device with which to steer or control the direction of movement
thereof while being used; operated or ridden.

1. It shall be unlawful for any person to skateboard, roller skate,
in-line skate, roller blade or scooter on any Township roadway designed
for vehicular traffic.
2. The use of skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, roller blades
and scooters on private sidewalks and streets and parking lots on
commercial properties within the Township is hereby prohibited when
posted.
3. The use of skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, roller blades
and scooters on school district property is prohibited when posted.
4. The use of skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, roller blades
and scooters on Township property is prohibited when posted.

Skateboards, roller skates, in-line skates, roller blades and
scooters shall not be operated on private property unless permission
from the owner or person in control of the premises is obtained prior
to such use.

Any person who violates any provision of this Part, upon conviction,
shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $25 and costs.
