There is hereby adopted by the Borough of Hatfield as the Fire Code of the Borough of Hatfield, three copies of which are on file in the office of the Borough Manager, that certain fire prevention code as published by the International Code Council known as the "International Fire Code, 2012 Edition," including only Appendix Chapters A, B, C, D and I, save and except such portions as are hereafter deleted, modified, or amended.

Wherever the words "Name of Jurisdiction" are used in the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, they shall be held to mean the "Borough of Hatfield." The term "fire code official," as used and defined in the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended to mean as follows: "the Fire Marshal or other designated authority charged with the administration and enforcement of the code, or a duly authorized representative."

Section 101.1 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by the insertion of the words "Borough of Hatfield" for the name of the jurisdiction.
2. 
Section 109.4 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by the insertion of "summary offense" as the offense, "$1,000" as the dollar amount, and "30 days" as the number of days.
3. 
Section 105.6.15 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be deleted in its entirety.

Section 105.6.30 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be deleted and inserted in its place the following:
"Open Burning. An operational permit is required for any variances authorized under the Hatfield Borough Code of Ordinances § 7-104."

Section 105.7 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be revised to include the following: "The fire code official is authorized to issue construction permits for work as set forth in Sections 105.7.1 through 105.1.16 and the Pennsylvania Uniform Construction Code."

Section 107.5 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be revised to include the following:
"Overcrowding. Overcrowding or admittance of any person beyond the approved capacity of a building or a portion thereof shall not be allowed. The Hatfield Township Police Department, fire code official, or their designee, upon finding . . . ."

Section 111.4 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by the insertion of "$300" for the first amount and "$600" for the second amount.
8. 
Section 307.1 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended to include the following:
"General. A person shall not kindle or maintain or authorize to be kindled or maintained any open burning unless conducted and approved in accordance with the Hatfield Borough Code of Ordinances, Chapter 7, Part 1, and Sections 307.1.1 through 307.5."
9. 
Section 503.2.1 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by revising the unobstructed width to be not less than 18 feet (5,486 mm).
10. 
Section 503.4 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by the insertion of an additional subsection numbered 503.4.2, titled "Enforcement Authority," and stating as follows:
"Enforcement Authority. The Hatfield Township Police Department shall have the sole authority to enforce the provisions relating to obstructions to fire apparatus access roads."
11. 
Section 503 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by the insertion of an additional subsection numbered 503.7, titled "Records," and stating as follows:
"Records. The fire code official shall prepare and maintain a record of all fire apparatus access roads and provide said record to the Hatfield Township Police Department."
12. 
Section 505.1 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended by the insertion of an additional subsection numbered 505.1.1, titled "Multiunit Buildings," and stating as follows:
"Multiunit Buildings. All buildings and structures with more than one occupant shall have at least one entrance of each occupancy clearly identified by three-inch characters of contrasting background identifying the unit number, letter or name."
13. 
Section A101.2 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended with the following: "In the event that a member cannot be found who meets the qualifications required herein, the Borough Council may appoint a suitable individual of their choosing."

Section D103.6 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended to state as follows:
"Signs. Where required by the fire code official, fire apparatus access roads shall be marked with permanent NO PARKING — FIRE LANE signs complying with Figure D103.6. Signs shall have a minimum dimension of 12 inches (305 mm) wide by 18 inches (457 mm) high and have red letters on a white reflective background and shall conform to the Pennsylvania Handbook of Approved Signs (Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Publication 236M). Signs shall be posted on one or both sides of the fire apparatus road as required by Section D103.6 or D103.6.2."

The referenced geographical limits in which the storage of Class I and Class II liquids in aboveground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited under Section 5704.2.9.6.1 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended with the insertion of the following: "All zoning districts with the exception of the I Industrial District as identified by the Hatfield Borough Zoning Map."

The referenced geographical limits in which the storage of Class I and Class II liquids in aboveground tanks is prohibited under Section 5706.2.4.4 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended with the insertion of the following: "All zoning districts with the exception of the I Industrial District as identified by the Hatfield Borough Zoning Map."
17. 
The referenced geographical limits in which the storage of flammable cryogenic fluids in stationary containers is prohibited under Section 5806.2 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended with the insertion of the following: "All zoning districts with the exception of the I Industrial District as identified by the Hatfield Borough Zoning Map."
18. 
The referenced geographical limits in which the storage of liquefied petroleum gas is restricted for the protection of heavily populated or congested areas under Section 6104.2 of the International Fire Code, 2012 Edition, shall be amended with the insertion of the following: "All zoning districts with the exception of the I Industrial District as identified by the Hatfield Borough Zoning Map."
