The establishment of a police department in and for the Borough
of Sharpsburg and the appointment of policemen by the Borough Council,
subject to any applicable civil service provisions in the law, is
hereby approved.
The Police Department shall be composed of a Chief of Police
and any other officers and patrolmen as have been or may be appointed
by the Borough Council from time to time, subject to applicable civil
service provisions in the law.
The Sharpsburg Borough Council recognizes the Sharpsburg Special
Police as an official auxiliary police force subject to rules and
regulations that have been set forth by the Mayor. Salaries, wages
and other compensation shall be set by the Borough Council.
