Beginning in the calendar year 1995, and each year thereafter, the Borough of Sharpsburg shall issue a business privilege license to all businesses, as defined by § 24-401 of the Code of Ordinances. This part shall not apply to any business subject to the mercantile license provisions of Chapter 13, Part 2 of the Code of Ordinances of the Borough of Sharpsburg.

No license shall be issued until an annual fee in an amount
to be determined from time to time by resolution of Borough Council
shall have been paid to the Borough Administrator/Secretary. Each
license shall expire on December 31 of each year.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision
of this part shall, upon conviction thereof, be sentenced to pay a
fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment
of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30
days. Each day that a violation of this part continues or each section
of this part which shall be found to have been violated shall constitute
a separate offense.
