1. In order to facilitate the movement of traffic and to combat the
hazards of snow and ice on the streets in the Borough, a snow emergency
shall be deemed to exist in the Borough:
A. When there has been a continuous snow fall of four inches or more
which has accumulated in the Borough.
B. When a snow emergency has been declared by the Governor, Mayor or
Chief of Police information on the existence of a snow emergency may
be given to the public through radio, newspaper or other available
media, or by posting notices on Borough streets. Notice of termination
of a snow emergency may be given in the same way.

1. After any snow emergency is declared, it shall be unlawful, at any
time during the continuance of the emergency, for any person to:
A. Park a motor vehicle or to allow the vehicle to remain parked anywhere
on any street in the Borough.
B. Drive any motor vehicle on any street in the Borough unless that
vehicle is equipped with all season/snow tires or chains.

1. If, at any time during a period of a snow emergency declared under §
15-501, a person shall park a motor vehicle or allow a motor vehicle to remain parked anywhere on a street in the Borough, that person shall be guilty of a violation of this Part and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $50 and costs; and
2. If, at any time during a period of a snow emergency declared under §
15-501, a person shall drive a motor vehicle upon a street in the Borough without having that vehicle equipped with all-season/snow tires or chains, that person shall be guilty of a violation of this Part and, upon conviction, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of $50 and costs.
