There shall be a Colts Neck Economic Development Committee (CNEDC)
established as an advisory body to the Township Committee for the
purpose of fostering new economic growth and the retention of existing
businesses and industries within the Township. The CNEDC shall seek
to facilitate the creation of a desirable business climate to promote
economic growth, job creation and the stabilization of commercial
tax ratables throughout the Township. The CNEDC shall unite local
business leaders and elected officials to pool resources and ideas
to maximize the strengths and assets of the community and its workforce
for the benefit of all residents and businesses in the Township.

A.
The Colts Neck Economic Development Committee (CNEDC) shall be composed
of five members, to be selected and appointed by the Township Committee,
who shall be residents of the municipality with not more than two
members of the Colts Neck Business Association, and shall serve without
compensation.
B.
A member of the Township Committee will be appointed as a liaison
non-voting member to the CNEDC to a one-year term, expiring December
31 annually.
C.
Seat 1: The President of the Colts Neck Business Association, or
a designee selected by the President.
A Chair and Vice Chair of the CNEDC shall be selected annually
by a simple majority of the CNEDC's membership present at the
first meeting of the year. Officers shall serve until their replacement
is selected.
The CNEDC shall meet monthly with a minimum of three members
being present to establish a quorum. The CNEDC shall annually advise
the Township Clerk of its meeting dates for the year for posting on
the Township's website.
The Committee shall not exercise any power of condemnation or
eminent domain and shall not be authorized to pledge the credit of
the Township or any other municipality or the State of New Jersey
or to create any debt against or in any manner act as the agent of
the Township.
