The purpose of this Part 2 is to recognize the existence of several aquifers which serve as the source of drinking water for the inhabitants of the Town of Easton and that contamination of any pond, stream, rivers, surface or subsurface water of Easton would pose a significant hazard to the health of the inhabitants of the town.

The siphoning of water from any pond, stream, river, watercourse, surface or subsurface water into a tank vehicle, or into any tank contained in or on a vehicle, shall be prohibited in the Town of Easton. This regulation shall not apply to municipal fire apparatus.
There may be designated a public water hydrant or other public water outlet in Easton to furnish water to a tank vehicle or such tank. The said hydrant or outlet shall not allow any backflow into the public water system and shall be under the supervision and control of the Water Commissioners or their designee. Water furnished from said hydrant or outlet shall only be used within the Town of Easton's boundaries.
A.
This Part 2 shall be in addition to any other rule, regulation or law relating to the use or protection of water or wetlands.
B.
The Department of Public Works, Water Division shall have the power hereunder to draft further rules and regulations relative to the use of public water hydrants in the town.

This Part 2 shall be enforced by members of the Easton Police Department or the Easton Water Division.
