The sanitary landfill is an acceptable and effective method
for the ultimate disposal of solid wastes. The purpose of these regulations
is to prevent the occurrence of air, land and water pollution, to
assist in the abatement of such conditions when and where such pollution
may occur and to extend the life of the sanitary landfill.
This policy, which was voted at the Board of Health meeting
on Friday, November 22, 1991, supersedes any other policy pertaining
to the same matter and is intended for the exclusive use of pumpers
who reside in Easton.
The following procedure is to be followed when using the sanitary
landfill to clean out sand and stone from the truck:
A. Call the Board of Health office requesting when you wish to use the
landfill, giving a minimum of 24 hours' notice.
B. The Board of Health will contact the landfill and make arrangements
as to time and site assignment.
C. The Board of Health will notify the pumper as to arrangement.
D. Enter the gate and see the attendant who will supervise procedure.
Any deviation from this policy will result in the loss of this
privilege. This is the only site where this procedure can be done.
Any violation could result in the suspension or revocation of your
permit.
