The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this division,
shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where
the context clearly indicates a different meaning:
Any person licensed by the state as an electrical apprentice
pursuant to the provisions of the Electrical License Act (59 O.S.
§ 1680 et seq.) and duly registered with the City to learn
and assist with electrical work under the direct supervision of a
journeyman electrician or electrical contractor.
Any person, firm or business licensed by the state as an
electrical contractor pursuant to the provisions of the Electrical
License Act (59 O.S. § 1680 et seq.) and duly registered
with the City to contract electrical work.
Any person licensed by the state as a journeyman electrician
pursuant to the provisions of the Electrical License Act (59 O.S.
§ 1680 et seq.) and duly registered with the City to perform
electrical work for an electrical contractor.
Any electrical work not expressly defined in residential
maintenance that is performed by the property owner on his/her personal
residence. This classification includes the addition, extension or
alteration of the electrical wiring system up to but not including
any part of a service, panelboard, switchboard, fuse box, or breaker
box.
A single-family dwelling, owned and occupied by that person
as their primary dwelling.
Minor work performed by the property owner on his/her personal
residence. This work shall be limited to the following: replacing
outlets with outlets of the proper type; replacing switches with switches
of the proper type; repairing light fixtures with appropriate parts;
and, replacing light fixtures with fixtures incapable of imposing
a greater load on the circuit.
Interior and exterior wiring used for power, lighting, control
and signal circuit wiring together with all its associated hardware,
fittings and wiring devices and parts, both permanently and temporarily
installed. This includes all electrical system components which extend
from the line side of the service metering device on underground installations
or the load end of the service drop for overhead power installations
to the connection point of fixtures and devices. This does not include
those fixtures, devices, and appliances connected to the wiring system.

No person shall engage in, carry on, or work at the business
of electrical wiring unless he has been duly licensed to do so under
the Electrical License Act (59 O.S. § 1680 et seq.) as administered
by the Oklahoma Construction Industries Board; provided, however,
no license shall be required for:
(1)
Any person who performs electrical work on appliances connected to
a building, structure or dwelling wiring system, or
(2)
Any person who performs residential maintenance.
(3)
Any person who performs minor residential wiring. Provided, however,
permits and inspections will still be required. A licensed electrician
will be required to complete the job if any person demonstrates inability
to complete the job. A person shall be deemed to have demonstrated
inability to complete the job after three failed inspections.

A.
Any electrician, or his authorized representative holding a license
with current date issued by the state construction industries board,
desiring to do electrical work in the classifications covered in his
certificate in the City, shall present his current state license to
the electrical inspector and pay to the City a registration fee in
the amount established by resolution.
B.
All electrician license registrations shall be renewable at the times
and for the terms established by resolution.

In addition to the required fees, before a certificate of registration
is issued and before engaging in business and/or annually on or before
June 30 of each year, every electrical contractor shall provide to
the City verification of compliance with the bonding requirements
of the state department of health.

In addition to the other requirements of this division, it shall
be the duty of every person engaged in businesses and trades covered
by the provisions of this division to display on all work cars, pickup
trucks or service vehicles, except passenger automobiles, a sign with
the minimum size letter of two inches. The sign shall designate the
business name and state number of the license originally issued to
the contractor or electrician. The numbers shall be printed at least
two inches in height, and shall be preceded by the capital letters
"OK".
