The Community Development Department, in concert with recreation
staff, is authorized to issue permits for admission to the City beach
to residents of the City of Plattsburgh and the Town of Plattsburgh.
A. Before issuing any such permit, there shall be exhibited to recreation
staff, at the beach entrance, a certificate of registration, currently
in effect, of the applicant's automobile, family van not exceeding
a 10-passenger capacity, pickup truck not exceeding a one-ton capacity,
motorcycle or motorbike and indicating that they are a resident of
Clinton County. No permits will be issued for buses, trucks or other
commercial vehicles.
B. The permit entitling the holder thereof to admission to the City
beach during the season shall be issued without fee.
C. Walk-on and ride-on passes have been eliminated (2005).
D. All permits shall be nontransferable, and recreation staff shall
keep a record of all permits issued.
E. The Common Council, by resolution, may adopt an entrance fee schedule
for other users of the City beach.
The holder of a permit as aforesaid shall, during the season
for which it is issued, be allowed admission, together with the occupants
of the holder's automobile, to the Plattsburgh City Beach during
those hours designated by the City of Plattsburgh.
