The survey, plan and system for the numbering of houses and buildings prepared by the Borough Engineer, Alonzo H. Yocum, dated January 10, 1935, copies of which are on file in the offices of the Borough Secretary and Borough Engineer, are hereby approved and adopted.
On and after the passage and approval of this chapter, it shall be the duty of each and every owner, trustee, lessor, agent or occupant of each and every house, building or other structure in the Borough of Folcroft to cause the same to be numbered in accordance with this chapter, and the system and plan hereby adopted and approved.

A. 
Each structure to which a street number has been assigned shall have such number displayed in a position easily observed and readable from the public right-of-way. Said numbers to be of paint, metal or enamel, shall be in Arabic numerals at least four inches (102 mm) high and one-half-inch (13 mm) stroke, the color of the numbers to be in contrast to the immediate background. Structures must be numbered on the front and rear entrance.
B. 
It shall be unlawful to cover any house number with any sign, drapery or other obstruction tending to cancel such number, and all old numbers shall be removed from the house, building or other structure when a new number has been assigned, and when so directed by the Building Code Official or Fire Marshal. The Building Code Official or Fire Marshal or either of them are hereby authorized to require the numbering and renumbering of any house, building or other structures in accordance with this chapter.
C. 
Numbers must be on both front and rear of each dwelling.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any provision of this chapter, upon conviction thereof, shall be sentenced to pay a fine of not more than $1,000 plus costs and, in default of payment of said fine and costs, to a term of imprisonment not to exceed 30 days. Each day that a violation of this chapter continues shall constitute a separate offense.
