Definitions;
word usage.
(1)
All
words and phrases used in this section shall, for the purpose of this
section, have the meanings respectively ascribed them in Title I,
Article 1, of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
(2)
Words
not defined in Title I, Article 1, of the Vehicle and Traffic Law
of the State of New York shall carry the customary meanings. Words
which denote the masculine shall also denote the feminine. Words used
in the present tense shall include the future tense and the plural
includes the singular. The word "shall" is always mandatory.
C.
Severability.
If any clause, sentence, paragraph, section, or part of this section
shall be adjudged by any court to be invalid, such judgment shall
not affect, impair or invalidate the remainder thereof, but shall
be confined in its operation to the clause, sentence, paragraph, section,
or part thereof directly involved in the controversy in which such
judgment shall have been rendered.
D.
Penalties
for offenses. Every person convicted of a traffic infraction for a
violation of any provision of this section is subject to penalties
pursuant to § 1800 of the New York State Vehicle and Traffic
Law.
